Produced by the world-renowned German manufactory NACHTMANN, from the late 1960s. The NACHTMANN factory was founded in Bavaria in 1834 by Michael Nachtmann. At the beginning of the 20th century, the factory's workshops moved to Neustadt, where they remain today. In the 1960s and 1970s, NACHTMANN became the largest producer of premium-quality crystal in Germany. The NACHTMANN concern for a long time united several subsidiaries: "Marc Aurel", "Katharinen Hutte", and "Spiegelau". The products from these factories differed in design and minimized lead oxide content in the crystal. In the early 2000s, the product range became significantly poorer. The factory shifted to more economical forms, with interesting items disappearing one by one. In 2004, the shares of Nachtmann Cristal AG were purchased by Riedel Glas. Although the factory still operates today, it has been unable to return to producing the items it made during its peak period. So now, any of its products from the 1960s and 1970s, especially those of high craftsmanship and preservation, have automatically become items of special interest for collectors and crystal connoisseurs, and the value of such items only increases each year.

The presented Decanter and Six "Marsala Glass" Glasses Set made of colored crystal belongs precisely to this period. The Traube (Grape) pattern is one of the most beautiful and labor-intensive. It is genuine high-quality lead crystal with a lead oxide content of at least 24% (PbO 24% – world standard). This lead oxide content increases the refractive index, allowing the crystal to shimmer with all its facets in the sun like precious stones.
