Production of the world-renowned German manufactory - NACHTMANN, late 1960s. The NACHTMANN factory was founded in Bavaria in 1834 by Michael Nachtmann. At the beginning of the 20th century, the factory's workshops moved to Neustadt, where they remain today. In the 1960s-1970s, NACHTMANN became Germany's largest producer of highest quality crystal. The NACHTMANN concern for a long time united several subsidiary enterprises: "Marc Aurel", "Katharinen Hutte", "Spiegelau". Products from these factories differed in design and minimized lead oxide content in the crystal. In the early 2000s, the product range became significantly poorer. The factory shifted to more economical forms, and interesting items disappeared one by one. In 2004, Riedel Glas bought out Nachtmann Cristal AG shares. Although the factory still operates today, it has been unable to return to producing the items it made during its peak period. So now, any of its products from the 1960s-1970s, especially those of high execution and preservation quality, have automatically become objects of special attention for collectors and crystal connoisseurs, and the value of such items only increases every year.
