

Rare antique salad serving box from the Imperial Russian Porcelain Factory of M. S. Kuznetsov, circa 1870. Made in the shape of a bunch of grapes with leaves. Marked on the other side with a blue underglaze stamp: Factory of M. S. Kuznetsov in Riga. The Riga porcelain and faience factory was originally a branch of the Kuznetsov family partnership, the largest Russian enterprise for the production of porcelain, faience, and majolica, with its industrial center located in Riga. The factory has been operating since the early 19th century. It successfully continued its work during the interwar period in Latvia and during the Soviet era, when it became one of the largest state enterprises for porcelain production.
