

A collection of six small antique Russian porcelain plates, handmade by the M.S. Kuznetsov Partnership Factory. The plates are decorated with hand-painted floral and plant motifs. Five plates have the green stamp of the M.S. Kuznetsov Partnership and a number on the reverse side. One plate has the blue stamp of the I.E. Kuznetsov Factory on the reverse side. Circa: late 19th century. The original factory, Brothers Kuznetsov in Novo-Kharitonovo, was founded in 1810. In 1892, M.S. Kuznetsov acquired the well-known Francis Gardner Porcelain Factory. By the beginning of the 20th century, he had absorbed many smaller factories and soon became responsible for nearly two-thirds of ceramic and porcelain production in the Russian Empire. The goods produced were of such high quality that in 1902 the owner was awarded the title of Purveyor to the Imperial Court.
