Description

Porcelain, white glaze, polychrome and gilt decoration; silver, gilding, Russia, Moskvaryki. Decor: gold framing, gold garlands with floral painting. Open silver mount, presumably from Turkey. Condition: each porcelain cup has a diameter of 5.5 cm. Total weight of silver mounts: approximately 136 grams. Good condition. Small handleless porcelain cups for tea or coffee. Provenance: private collection, Cyprus. These are six cups made at the Kuznetsov Porcelain Factory in Moscow in the late 19th century. The small cups are adorned with polychrome floral painting, as well as gold framing and garlands. The cups are held in six matching open silver mounts, presumably from Turkey. The set is stored in its original case. The base of the porcelain cups bears a red factory mark. Condition, apart from very fine cracks in the porcelain and slight wear to the gold, is good. The case shows minor signs of use. The diameter of each porcelain cup is 5.5 cm. The total weight of the silver mounts is approximately 136 grams.
