Description

Porcelain, white glaze, polychrome and gold painting; silver, gilding, Russia, Moskvareki. Decor: gold borders, gold garlands with floral painting. Open silver mounts, presumably from Turkey. Specifications: each porcelain cup has a diameter of 5.5 cm. Total weight of the silver mounts: approximately 136 grams. Good condition. Small handleless porcelain cups for tea or coffee. Origin: private collection, Cyprus. This is a set of six cups made at the Kuznetsov porcelain factory in Moscow at the end of the 19th century. The small cups are decorated with polychrome floral painting, as well as gold borders and garlands. The cups are held in six matching open silver mounts, presumably from Turkey. The set is stored in its original case. There is a red factory mark on the base of the porcelain cups. Condition, apart from very fine hairlines in the porcelain and minor gold wear, is good. The case shows minor signs of use. The diameter of each porcelain cup is 5.5 cm. The total weight of the silver mounts is approximately 136 grams.
