

Porcelain figurine "DANCING GIRL (ORIENTAL DANCE)", STATE PORCELAIN FACTORY, LENINGRAD, AFTER 1927. The figure depicts an Uzbek girl kneeling in a fanciful costume with many braids on her head and her arms raised above her head, made after a sketch by Natalia Danko (1892-1942) from the early 1920s.
It bears the round hammer and sickle stamp—the factory's symbol—as well as the Cyrillic initials I.K., denoting the modeler Ivan Kuznetsov. There is also a "Made in Russia" mark, stamped in red letters (this mark was introduced in 1927 for goods intended for export). Height – 6 inches (15.2 cm).
