

LARGE PORCELAIN FIGURE OF A BASHKIR from the Kuznetsov Porcelain Factory, Moscow, circa 1894. Realistically modeled figure of a man dressed in a long blue coat and a cropped red hat with yellow trim, leaning with his left hand on the hilt of a sword and standing on a round naturalistic base inscribed in Cyrillic "Bashkir," marked underneath with impressed Cyrillic "Gardner" and the Moscow coat of arms and number "317," as well as bearing the red-brown stamped mark of the Kuznetsov Factory and a pencil inscription "317." Height 11¼ inches (28.8 cm)
