

A rare and impressive Russian porcelain vase, Kuznetsov Porcelain Factory, circa 1875. The vase is elegantly modeled in the form of an amphora, surrounded by adoring griffins on a quadrangular base. The sienna-painted body is decorated with feathers and floral heads; the griffins have chlorophyll-green heads and white feathers with cobalt edges. The bottom bears the Kuznetsov factory mark and inventory numbers 850, 34, and 61; height – 43.3 cm. Provenance: from the collection of an emigrated Georgian family, Israel.
