Description

A rare porcelain plate from the Kuznetsov Factory featuring an image of a Jewish dancer for the ballet "Cleopatra," based on a drawing by Leon Bakst (1866-1924). Marked on the reverse by the manufacturer. The following is written in ink: "Based on a sketch by L. Bakst, Jewish dance, ballet 'Cleopatra,' numbered in brown ink 1886. Circa 1920."
