Description

A rare porcelain plate from the Kuznetsov Factory depicting a Jewish dancer for the ballet "Cleopatra" based on a drawing by Leon Bakst (1866-1924). Marked on the reverse by the manufacturer. The following is inscribed in ink: "based on a sketch by L. Bakst, Jewish dance, ballet 'Cleopatra', numbered in brown ink 1886. Circa 1920."
