

A rare antique round plate from the late 19th century, produced in Russia at the I. E. Kuznetsov porcelain factory for the Persian market. The plate is bright scarlet, featuring a portrait of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar in the center and gilded decorative elements along the edge. The underside is marked in red ink enamel: I. E. Kuznetsov Factory on the Volkhov. Naser al-Din Shah Qajar was the Shah of Qajar Iran from September 5, 1848, to May 1, 1896, when he was assassinated. He was the son of Mohammad Shah Qajar and Malek Jahan Khanum and is the third longest-reigning monarch in the history of Iran after Shapur II of the Sasanian dynasty and Tahmasp I of the Safavid dynasty.
