Soviet ceramic plate from the Kuznetsov Porcelain Factory, early 20th century, Dulevo, Russia, made for the Eastern market with an ikat-style pattern. It features printed and engraved marks on the base. Diameter 36 cm. Provenance: Iconastas, Piccadilly Arcade, St. James's, London, W1. Literature: Victoria Z. Rivers, "Culture on a Plate: The Politicization of Central Asian Ikat Patterns," 2004. A similar example can be found in the British Museum, collection number 2019,8025.1.
