A very rare vintage Soviet porcelain plate, manufactured at the Dulevo Porcelain Factory. This porcelain plate commemorates the sporting competitions between the teams of the USSR and Great Britain in 1959. It depicts the statue "Discobolus," an archaeological monument of ancient Greece, against a backdrop of the waving flags of the USSR and Great Britain. Hand-painted and decorated with gilding. In very good condition, with no chips or cracks. The reverse side bears the stamp of the Dulevo Porcelain Factory with the inscription "MADE IN USSR."
