Description

On the underside. Hemispherical shape. Ascending, blooming peony plants on the wall and in the mirror. Polychrome Kakiemon painting in Japanese style in blue enamel, iron-red, purple, sea green, and a little yellow, partially gilded. Manufacturer's mark Johann Gottlieb Kühnle Sen. (active since 1732). Sword mark. Height: 4.5 cm. Compare with Rückert, Bavarian National Museum Catalog, figure 253; Lübke Collection, Volume II, Number 162. Porcelain cup and saucer, painting in Kakiemon style. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. Circa 1735.
