Description

On the underside. Hemispherical shape. Ascending, blooming peony plants on the wall and in the mirror. Polychrome Kakiemon-style decoration in Japanese taste in blue enamel, iron-red, purple, sea-green and a little yellow, partly gilded. Manufacturer's mark Johann Gottlieb Künel Sen. (active from 1732). Sword mark. Height: 4.5 cm. Compare with Rückert, Catalogue of the Bavarian National Museum, figure 253; Lübke Collection, Volume II, Number 162. Porcelain cup and saucer, Kakiemon-style painting. Mark of crossed swords. Meissen. Circa 1735.
