Description

On the lower cup. "Antique smooth." Cylindrical body with a side slanting handle "à la grecque." On the wall and flag there is a common frieze decoration "flowers on a terrace" with grasses, stems, and multicolored flowers, framed by a wide ornamental border. Polychrome painting with gold embellishment. Partially worn/faded/chipped/fine cracks. Scepter mark. Height 6 cm. The decoration originally comes from the royal dining room, which was also adorned with mascaron heads and a green orange ribbon. Kollmann/Jarčov, Berlin Porcelain Factory, vol. II, no. 443; Catalogue of Berlin Porcelain 1763–1850, Westphalian State Museum, p. 170 and following. Porcelain cup and saucer finely painted with the "flowers on a terrace" decor. Partially worn/faded/chipped/fine cracks. Scepter mark. KPM-Berlin. Circa 1795.
