In 1939, Kvitnitskaya entered the Moscow Textile Institute, and later managed to transfer to the Moscow Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, to the sculpture faculty. After graduating from the institute, N. Kvitnitskaya worked on park sculptures, then created sculptures in stone and metal. She is known for her work "Speed Skater," made for the Kasli Cast Iron Plant. Since 1956, N. Kvitnitskaya worked with porcelain forms. The first time she was invited to Gzhel by Lyudmila Azarova.

From 1960, Nina Kvitnitskaya began her fruitful work at the "Artistic Ceramics" artel in Turygino. Two artists, Lyudmila Azarova and Nina Kvitnitskaya, created world-famous works, sitting opposite each other at the same table. In 1963, the artist became an honorary member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The artist devoted less than a decade and a half to the crafts, but the mark she left is still clearly visible today. Until 1975, the artist's attention was mainly devoted to the development of interesting tableware forms. The creative activity of N. Kvitnitskaya, together with the work of L. Azarova and Z. Okulova, defined the rise of modern Gzhel ceramics.
