Within a circle, an ornamental octagonal rosette frames the coin's denomination placed in the center. Below the denomination digits is the inscription 'TYIN'. The year of minting, 1993, is placed at the bottom of the rosette. The six facets of the octagonal rosette contain decorative elements from the national ornament.
Obverse
The center features the coat of arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the inscription ҚАЗАҚСТАН РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ (Republic of Kazakhstan) around the circumference. A raised rim runs along the outer edge.
