    In the foreground are figures of three women in national dress, sitting around a fire and doing needlework; below them, near the rim, is an inscription on a ribbon with curled edges: 'MORDOVIA'. Behind them in the background are the outlines of river banks with fauna representatives: on the left, a bear and a lynx; on the right, a bison and an eagle. In the far background is a sailing ship. At the top, near the rim, are fragments of a national ornament.

In the central part of a characteristic dotted circle is a double-headed eagle, and below it is stamped the name of the coin's issuer 'BANK OF RUSSIA'.
