Reverse
The reverse of the coin features an image of a rock drawing of warriors. The drawing is dated to the 6th-8th centuries AD. On the wide rim there is an inscription "OI-ZHAILAU • TURKI ASKERI" in the state language and "OI-JAILAU • TURK WARRIOR" in English.
Obverse
The obverse of the coin features the denomination "500 TENGE" in two lines at its center, below it the year of mintage "2003", and along the wide rim, an incuse inscription "KAZAKSTAN ULTTYQ BANKI". In the upper part of the coin is the inscription "Ag 925 24 gr." indicating that the coin is made of .925 silver and weighs 24 grams. There is also an image of a heraldic spiral and the trademark of the Kazakhstan Mint.
