In the central part, five shields with coats of arms are arranged in the form of a cross. The central shield depicts the Coat of Arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle with a scepter and orb. The top shield is the Moscow coat of arms, the bottom is the coat of arms of the Siberian Tsardom. The left shield is the coat of arms of the Astrakhan Tsardom, the right is the Kazan Tsardom. The top shield is crowned with an imperial crown, the other three shields are crowned with tsarist crowns. Between the circular coats of arms are four small roses, above them the digits of the year of issue: 1 '7', '6', 2. Around the rim, along the edge, the inscription: IМПRСКАЯ 'РОССÏИС' 'МОН•ЦЕНА' 'ПЯТЬ•РУБ', divided into four parts by crowns.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Peter III. Around the portrait, the inscription: ПЕТРЪ•III•Б•М•IМП•IСАМОДЕРЖ•ВСЕРОС. Below the portrait is the abbreviation 'С П Б' (Saint Petersburg Mint).
