Reverse

The central part features five shields arranged in a cross. The central shield depicts the Coat of Arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle with scepter and orb. The top shield is the Moscow coat of arms, the bottom one is the Siberian Kingdom coat of arms. The left shield is the Astrakhan Kingdom coat of arms, the right one is the Kazan Kingdom coat of arms. The top shield is crowned with an imperial crown, the other three shields are crowned with tsarist crowns. Between the circular coats of arms are four small roses, above them the digits of the year of issue: 1, '7', '6', 5. Along the edge of the coin's reverse is the inscription: ♚ IМПРСКАЯ ♛ РОССÏЙС ♛ МОН•ЦЕНА ♛ ПЯТЬ•РꙊБ The crown at the top of the reverse is imperial, the other three crowns are tsarist.

Obverse

The center of the obverse features a right-facing profile portrait of Russian Empress Catherine II. On the lower left part of the portrait are the initials 'T•I', indicating the medallist Timofey Ivanov. At the bottom, below the portrait, is the abbreviation 'С П Б' (Saint Petersburg Mint). Along the edge in an arc from the lower left is the inscription: Б•М•ЕКАТЕРИНА•II•IМП•IСАМОД•ВСЕРОСС•
