Reverse
The center is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle with wings spread, both heads wearing crowns, with a larger third crown above and between the heads. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. Around the eagle is the text: МАНЕТА НОВАѦ ЦЕНА ПОЛТИНА ҂АѰИI (1718). The edge of the coin features a beaded border.
Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the right-facing profile of Peter I, crowned with a laurel wreath. Around the portrait is the text: ЦРЬ ПЕТРЪ АЛЕѯIЕВИЧЪ ВСЕѦ РОСИI САМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ. The rim is executed as a twisted rope (denticles at an angle to the ground).
