  • Reverse
The center of the reverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle with raised, spread wings. The eagle's heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is above and between the heads. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. In its beaks, the eagle holds ribbons with the coats of arms of the cities of Riga and Reval (Tallinn). Below the eagle, the denomination "48" (kopeks) is indicated. To the left and right of the denomination are six-petaled rosettes. Around the circumference near the rim runs the text: "MONETA LIVON ET ESTLAND" and the year "1756".
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse features the right-facing profile of the Russian Empress Elizabeth I Petrovna. From left to right along the arc near the edge runs the inscription: B•M•ELISAVET•I•IMP•ISAMOD•VSEROS. At the end of the legend is a floral rosette.
