  • Reverse
    The central part features a four-line inscription: ГРИВЕННИКЪ҂АѰЕМ indicating the denomination, the year of minting in Cyrillic (1705), and the mint mark. An ornament is placed on either side of the inscription. The edge of the coin has a twisted dotted border.
  • Obverse
    The center of the obverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire – a double-headed eagle. Both heads of the eagle bear crowns, with a larger third crown between them. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. The rim resembles a massive twisted cable (the teeth are angled relative to the field).
