    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, is the coat of arms of Kherson Oblast (Ukraine). Around the edge of the coin is an inscription in Ukrainian: «ХЕРСОНСЬКА ОБЛАСТЬ. ЗАСНОВАНА У 1944 РОЦI», which translates to: 'Kherson Oblast, founded in 1944'.

    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, is a collage consisting of: a cargo ship sailing on the sea, three dolphins, a lighthouse, an elevator, and agricultural crops: melons, tomatoes, wheat ears, etc. Above the ship is the year of minting, 2014. In the upper part, along the arc of the coin's edge, is the coat of arms of Ukraine, separating the inscription in Ukrainian: «НАЦIОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ», which translates to: 'National Bank of Ukraine'. Below (separated from the upper inscription by a dot on the left and the Kyiv Mint mark on the right) is the inscription: «ПЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ» - 5 Hryvnias.
