    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, is the coat of arms of Cherkasy Oblast (Ukraine). Around the edge of the coin is an inscription in Ukrainian: «CHERKASKA OBLAST. ZASNOVANA U 1954 ROTSI», which translates to: 'Cherkasy Oblast, founded in 1954'.

    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, is a collage depicting: a Catholic church, wheat ears, gazebos, a swan in a pond, and a bandura musical instrument. Above the church is the year of minting, 2014. In the upper part, along the arc of the coin's edge, is the coat of arms of Ukraine, separating the inscription in Ukrainian: «NATSIONALNYI BANK UKRAINY», which translates to: 'National Bank of Ukraine'. Below (separated from the upper inscription by a dot on the left and the Kyiv Mint mark on the right) is the inscription: «PIAT HRYVEN» - 5 Hryvnias.
