In the central part, a three-line inscription in Spanish: '1 DESIMO DE REAL' (one decimo), surrounded by a wreath of pomegranate branches with flowers and fruit, tied with a ribbon.
Obverse
An inscription in Spanish is placed left, top, and right: 'REPUBLICA DE LA NUEVA GRANADA', which translates to 'Republic of New Granada'. In the central part, surrounded by rays, is the cap of the goddess Liberty with the inscription: 'LIBERTAD' (Liberty). In the lower part, along the curve of the coin's edge, is the date 1847.
