Around the rim are inscriptions in English: at the top, 'JAMAICA'; at the bottom, 'HALF PENNY'. The central part features the 1875 coat of arms of Jamaica on a shield. To the left of it is the number '19', and to the right is '52', together forming the year of issue: '1952'. The edge of the coin is decorated with raised denticles.
Obverse
The central part of the coin features the left-facing profile of King George VI. Along the left and right rim is the English text: 'KING GEORGE THE SIXTH'. The edge of the coin is decorated with raised denticles.
