    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal against a background of national ornament, is the coat of arms of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (Ukraine). Around the edge of the coin is an inscription in Ukrainian: «IВАНО-ФРАНКIВСЬКА ОБЛАСТЬ. ЗАСНОВАНА У 1939 РОЦI», which translates to: 'Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, founded in 1939'.

    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, is a collage consisting of: St. Demetrius Church, the Pysanka Museum, an oil derrick, a bouquet of flowers, and a snowboarder descending a snowy slope. In the center of the collage is the year of mintage, 2014. In the upper part, following the arc of the coin's edge, is the coat of arms of Ukraine, separating the inscription in Ukrainian: «НАЦIОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ», which translates to: 'National Bank of Ukraine'. Below (separated from the upper inscription by a dot on the left and the Kyiv Mint mark on the right) is the inscription: «ПЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ» - 5 Hryvnias.
