    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, there is a depiction of a circle of twelve five-pointed stars superimposed on a capital Latin letter: 'e'. Below it, a two-line inscription in Ukrainian: '1949 PIK', meaning the year 1949. Along the edge of the coin, separated by three five-pointed stars, is the inscription 'Council of Europe' in English: 'COUNCIL OF EUROPE', French: 'CONSEIL DE L'EUROPE', and Ukrainian: 'РАДА ЄВРОПИ'.
  • Obverse
    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, is an outline of Europe, above it the year of minting 2009, surrounded by a circle of twelve five-pointed stars. In the upper part, along the curved edge of the coin, is the Coat of Arms of Ukraine, separating the inscription in Ukrainian: 'НАЦIОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ', which translates to 'National Bank of Ukraine'. Below (separated from the upper inscription by a five-pointed star on the left and the Kyiv Mint mark on the right) is the inscription: 'ПЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ' - 5 Hryvnias.
