    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, is the coat of arms of Kirovohrad Oblast (Ukraine). Around the edge of the coin is an inscription in Ukrainian: «КIРОВОГРАДСЬКА ОБЛАСТЬ. ЗАСНОВАНА У 1939 РОЦI», which translates to: 'Kirovohrad Oblast, founded in 1939'.

    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, is a collage consisting of: an administrative building, two sunflower blossoms and wheat ears, a seed drill, a water tower, and a stylized depiction of an atom. Below the building is the year of mintage, 2014. In the upper part, along the curved edge of the coin, is the coat of arms of Ukraine, separating the inscription in Ukrainian: «НАЦIОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ», which translates to: 'National Bank of Ukraine'. Below (separated from the upper inscription by a dot on the left and the Kyiv Mint mark on the right) is the inscription: «ПЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ» - 5 Hryvnias.
