  • Obverse
The central part depicts the coat of arms of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, a round disc with an angel framed by two interlocking chains. Along the outer edge of the disc, the state name in English 'REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS' is at the top, and the motto in Marshallese 'JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN', translating to 'Accomplishment through joint effort', is at the bottom. Two rays emanate upward from the angel's head, between which is a twenty-four-pointed star. Above the angel's wings: a fishing net on the right, a shell tool on the left. Below the wings: a canoe on the right, coconut palms on the left. Below the angel is an image of a traditional Marshallese navigational chart in perspective, beneath it the inscription on a ribbon 'Seal'. Outside the outer chain, to the left of the disc, is the mark '$10' — 'ten dollars', and to the right is the year of issue '1991'.
