    In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of an old three-masted sailing ship sailing leftward on the sea. To the left is an image of a Native American woman sitting on the shore with a flower in her hand, a seashell at her feet. Below the ship's stern are the Havana mint mark and the year of issue 1992. In the upper part, along the rim's curve, is text in Spanish: «CENTENARIO», below it the numeral «V», which translates as: "5 centuries." Below the ship, against the sea background, is a three-line inscription in Spanish: «PRESENCIA DE AFRICA EN AMERICA», translating to "The African Presence in America."
