In the central part, within a wreath of fleur-de-lis, is depicted the lesser coat of arms of the King of Spain - a cross, with two lions and two castles in its quarters. The rim is decorated with raised, decorative denticles.
Obverse
In the central part - the right-facing profile of Charles IV. To the left of it is the mintmark of the Madrid Mint: "M", to the right - the numeral: "1". To the left and right along the edge is Latin text: "CAROLUS·IIII·D·G·HISP·REX" - "CHARLES IV BY THE GRACE OF GOD KING OF SPAIN", below - the year of minting: "1802".
