Two laurel branches are depicted along the arcs of the left and right edges of the coin; they cross at the bottom and are tied with a bow. In the central part, there is a three-line inscription in Arabic: "مدة محمد الصادق بتونس" - "MOHAMMED AL-SADIQ KING OF TUNISIA". Below it is the mint year: "١٢٨٩" - 1289 AH (Islamic calendar) or 1872 AD (Gregorian calendar).

A flower is depicted in the central part. To the left and right along the rim are two laurel branches, which cross at the bottom and are tied with a bow.
