In its right talon is a sword, in its left a scepter. On the eagle's breast is an oval framed by a chain, containing the inscription '1/2'. The coat of arms divides the mint year '1800' into two parts: '18' on the left, '00' on the right. The edge of the coin has decorative raised denticles.
  • Obverse
The center features a right-facing profile of Francis II, Emperor of the Austrian Empire, King of Hungary and Bohemia, wearing a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon. An inscription in Latin runs along the edge of the coin in an arc: on the right and left 'FRANC∙II∙D∙G∙R∙I∙S∙A∙GE∙HV∙BO∙REX∙A∙A∙' (Francis II, by the Grace of God, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, King of Germany, Hungary and Bohemia, Archduke of Austria). Below is the Latin letter 'A' - the mint mark of Vienna. Denticles run along the rim.
