Beneath the hole is the Latin letter 'K', the mint mark for Kings Norton Metal, Birmingham. Along the rim, split into two parts, is the Latin legend 'GEORGIVS V' on the left and 'REX ET IND: IMP:' (George V King and Emperor of India) on the right, with a stylized ornament below each part. Above is the Crown, symbol of the British Empire. The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
