The central part features an athlete performing the triple jump. Above the athlete is an inscription in Ukrainian: «СIДНЕЙ 2000», translated as «Sydney 2000». Below it is a four-line inscription in Ukrainian: «XXVII ЛIТНI ОЛIМПIЙСЬКI IГРИ», translated as «XXVII Summer Olympic Games».
Obverse
The surface is crossed by two wavy and two straight lines. In the central part, between the two straight lines, four athletes are depicted: a rhythmic gymnast, a gymnast on the parallel bars, a long jumper (triple jump), and a yachtsman. Above them is the coat of arms of Ukraine. Above the coat of arms is the country name in Ukrainian: «УКРАЇНА». Below the athletes is a two-line inscription: «2 ГРИВНI» - 2 hryvnias. In the lower part, along the edge of the coin, is the year of mintage 2000.
