    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, is the coat of arms of Luhansk Oblast (Ukraine). Around the edge of the coin is an inscription in Ukrainian: «ЛУГАНСЬКА ОБЛАСТЬ. ЗАСНОВАНА У 1938 РОЦI», which translates to: 'Luhansk Oblast, founded in 1938'.

    In the central part, within a circle of yellow metal, is a collage depicting: agricultural crops: sunflower flowers, wheat ears; two artificial mounds, an oil refinery, a rising sun, and a hamster sitting in a field. Below them is the year of issue, 2013. In the upper part, along the curved edge of the coin, is the coat of arms of Ukraine, separating the inscription in Ukrainian: «НАЦIОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ», which translates to: 'National Bank of Ukraine'. Below (separated from the upper inscription by a dot on the left and the Kyiv Mint mark on the right) is the inscription: «ПЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ» - 5 Hryvnias.
