In the central part, the Star of Solomon. Below it is the year of issue: 1952, flanked by dots. Around the edge from left to right is the country name in English: BRITISH WEST AFRICA. The rim of the coin features raised elements in the form of denticles.
Obverse
To the left, above, and to the right of the central hole is the English text: 'ONE HALF PENNY' - half penny, framed by arched patterns. Below it is the mint mark 'KN' - the mark of the King's Norton, Birmingham mint artist. Above it is depicted the British Crown. Below the central hole is Arabic script. On the left side, along the rim, is the Latin inscription: 'GEORGIVS', on the right - 'SEXTVS REX' - King George VI. The edge of the coin features a denticulated rim.
