Along the left and right edges is the text: 'FERDIN VII D G HISP REX', which translates from Latin as 'Ferdinand VII by the Grace of God King of Spain'. In the lower part, following the curve of the edge and separated by dots, is the year of minting: 1814. The edge of the coin features decorative elements in the form of dentils.
