The central part depicts the coat of arms of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, which is a round disc with an angel framed by two interlocking chains. Two rays emanate upward from the angel's head, between which is a twenty-four-pointed star. Above the angel's wings, on the right, is a fishing net, and on the left, a shell tool. Below the wings: on the right, a canoe; on the left, coconut palms. Below the angel is an image of a traditional Marshallese navigational chart in perspective, beneath which is the inscription on a ribbon 'Seal', translated from English as 'Seal'. Below the outer chain, to the left of the disc, is the $10 sign — 'ten dollars', and to the right, the year of mintage '1996'.
