In the central part is the building of the Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater. Along the upper edge of the coin, an inscription in Ukrainian runs from left to right: «ЛЬВIВСЬКИЙ ТЕАТР ОПЕРИ ТА БАЛЕТУ». Below the theater is a two-line inscription: «100 РОКIВ», which together translate as: «100 Years of the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater».
Obverse
In the central part is the sculptural composition of Muse and Melpomene, crowning the portrait of opera singer Solomiya Krushelnytska on the central staircase of the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater. Above them is the Coat of Arms of Ukraine, below them is a two-line inscription: «5 ГРИВЕНЬ» - 5 hryvnias. To the left of Melpomene is the year of mintage 2000, to the right of the Muse is the mintmark of the Kyiv Mint. In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, is the country name in Ukrainian: «УКРАЇНА».
