Reverse
In the upper part, following the curve of the coin's edge, is the Spanish text: "Y LA CONST·REINA DE LAS ESPAÑAS" - "AND BY THE CONSTITUTION·QUEEN OF THE SPANIARDS". Below is the year of minting: "1851". In the central part, in four lines, is the Spanish inscription: "MEDIO REAL. CINCO DECIMAS" - "HALF REAL. FIVE TENTHS".
Obverse
In the central part is an oval shield - the coat of arms of Spain from 1813, above it is a crown. To the left and right along the edge is the Spanish text: "ISABEL 2A. POR LA G· DE DIOS" - "ISABELLA 2ND BY THE GRACE OF GOD". Decorative raised dots are placed along the rim.
