    In the central part, within a circle of silvery metal, a depiction of a man in an old-fashioned flying helmet facing left. Along the upper edge of the coin from left to right, inscriptions in Slovenian: 'EDVARD RUSJAN.EDA I.1909', translating to 'Edvard Rusjan. EDA-1 (aircraft model).1909', and in two lines: 'PRVI POLET Z MOTORNIM LETALOM NA SLOVENSKEM', translating to 'First powered flight in Slovenia'.

    The field is divided by radial segments into six unequal sectors. The five sectors on the left are shaded with ten parallel semicircles of varying radii. In the central part of the right sector, an inscription in Slovenian: '3 EURO' - 3 Euro, above it, arranged along the radius: the mintage year 2009 and the name of the state Slovenia in Slovenian: 'SLOVENIJA'.
