  • Obverse
In the central part is the coat of arms of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, which is a round disc with an angel framed by two interlocking chains. Along the outer edge of the disc, the state name in English 'REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS' at the top, and the motto in Marshallese 'JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN' at the bottom, translating to 'Accomplishment Through Joint Effort'. Two rays emanate upward from the angel's head, between which is a twenty-four-pointed star. Above the angel's wings: on the right, a fishing net; on the left, a shell tool. Below the wings: on the right, a canoe; on the left, coconut palms. Below the angel is an image of a traditional Marshallese navigational chart in perspective, beneath it the inscription on a ribbon 'Seal'. Outside the outer chain, to the left of the disc, is the sign $10 — 'ten dollars', and to the right, the year of minting '1991'.
