    In the central part are the outlines of an eight-pointed star. Inside is a large numeral 5, below it the inscription in Kazakh 'TYIN', in the right ray the symbols 'ҚҰБ' of the Kazakhstan Mint. In the two lower facets of the star is the year of minting '1993'. In the six other facets are decorative elements of national ornament.
  • Obverse
    Along the edge of the coin on the left, top, and right is the Cyrillic inscription of the state Republic of Kazakhstan — 'KAZAKSTAN . RESPUBLIKASY', at the bottom — three raised elements in the form of dots. In the central part is the state coat of arms: a shanyrak (the upper domed part of a yurt) in the form of a crosspiece inscribed in a circle, from which support rays radiate in different directions, surrounded on the sides by mythical winged horses, tulpars. At the top between the wings is a five-pointed star, at the bottom the name of the country 'KAZAKSTAN'.
