In the central part - the numeral: "2", below it an inscription in Portuguese: "KWANZAS", which together translates as: "2 KWANZAS". The edge of the coin is decorated with a pattern of dots.
Obverse
In the upper part, following the curve of the coin's edge, is the text in Portuguese: "REPÚBLICA DE ANGOLA", which translates as: "REPUBLIC OF ANGOLA", below it - the year of issue: "1999". In the central part is the coat of arms of Angola: crossed machete-panga and hoe, and a five-pointed star above them against the background of a rising sun.
