In the central part, the state coat of arms of Portuguese West Africa. Below, the text is struck in two lines in Portuguese: "II MACUTAS" - II macutas. In the upper part, along the arc of the coin's edge, the text in Portuguese: "DEZ CENTAVOS" - ten centavos. Five-pointed stars separate the upper and lower inscriptions. A relief ornament runs along the arc of the coin's edge.
Obverse
In the central part, the head of Liberty facing left, wearing a Phrygian cap with a diadem crown and a circular wreath of a cotton branch and wheat ears. From left to right along the edge, text in Portuguese and the year of minting: "REPUBLICA PORTUGUESA - 1928" - Portuguese Republic 1928, and the country name in English: "ANGOLA" - Angola, framed by dots. A relief ornament runs along the edge of the coin.
