Reverse
In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of the stringed musical instrument, the bandura. Above it is its name in Ukrainian: «бандура». Along the edge of the coin is a decorative pattern in the form of a floral ornament.
Obverse
The field is divided by five vertical parallel lines. In the central part, a floral ornament is depicted, above it is the Coat of Arms of Ukraine, below it is the year of mintage 2003. Along the edge of the coin are inscriptions in Ukrainian: at the top the country name «УКРАЇНА», at the bottom «5 гривень» - 5 hryvnias. In the right part, along the arc of the coin's edge, is the mint mark of the Kyiv Mint.
